OVERVIEW

The FP&A Manager will play a critical role in supporting the company’s strategic initiatives. You will report to the Director of Finance, and partner with business leaders, as well as with finance and accounting peers across the organization. In this role, you will manage long-term strategic planning, lead the annual budgeting process and monthly/quarterly forecasts, and develop and maintain performance reporting and analysis. The ideal candidate is passionate about leveraging data to deliver actionable insights that impact daily business decisions. This role is suited for an ambitious and motivated CPA/CFA or similar qualification looking to transition from practice into industry to develop the next stage of their career.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Improve and maintain Tellus 5-year operating model
  • Perform sophisticated analyses to address unstructured problems
  • Develop new tools and robust analytics to enhance business insights around KPIs/metrics, including dashboards and summary reports
  • Extract insights from data and effectively use images, charts, graphs, and conceptual frameworks to synthesize that data
  • Develop actionable recommendations
  • Prepare professional presentations for the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and other senior leadership
  • Improve current systems and processes to increase productivity and accuracy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities and ensure accurate and timely actions in line with business needs
  • Support analysis of capital raising, project finance & capital investments
  • Support the implementation of recommendations and new initiatives
  • Support any ad hoc financial analysis and modeling
  • Support the management team in development of business cases, evaluation against strategic criteria, risk assessment, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with the corporate development team to evaluate new investment opportunities and acquisitions by standardizing methodologies for analysis
  • Work with the Director of FP&A in other areas with special projects as required

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Prior experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, private equity, or similar field involving complex analytics and critical thinking preferred
  • Strong financial modeling skills (operating and forecast models) are a must
  • Highly analytical with the ability to translate large amounts of data and information into strategic and actionable insights and business recommendations
  • Experience with EPM, BI tools, and enterprise accounting systems GP, SAP, Power BI, etc. are pluses
  • Proven ability to work with technical and engineering teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree from a university with a strong academic reputation required
  • Master’s in Finance-related field of study (e.g., Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration) is a plus.

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • A willingness to learn about our business, leaving your desk and spending time in a manufacturing environment
  • To be highly analytical and have an ability to draw insight from large data sets
  • To be organized and capable of managing multiple activities simultaneously
  • Experience with SAP, Great Plains or other ERP systems desirable
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to distil and package complex analyses into actionable insights/recommendations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Preference for experience/proficiency in advanced analytical tools (e.g., Minitab, Tableau, Anaplan), Visual Basic programming, and capacity to learn new data applications
  • To be an excellent communicator, able to engage and influence stakeholders
  • To be intellectually curious and to have a continuous improvement mindset to own and fix issues identified

  • Experience with capital markets a plus, especially from a capital source identification and knowledge of process to access funds

  • Preference for experience utilizing advanced analytical tools (e.g. Power BI), ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics). Open and capable of learning new technologies that optimize existing processes and enhance efficiency
  • Comfortable with large data sets and data mining
  • Multitasking and able to prioritize

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
