Summary of the position:

The General Industrial (GI) Equipment Sales Representative is responsible for selling all Sullair compressed air equipment and air treatment solutions to existing and new customers throughout assigned territory. The GI Sales Representative will identify opportunities, ascertain specific customer requirements, develop the BEST compressor solution, and effectively position the solution with the customer. As a direct sales representative the sales efforts will target heavy-industrial (and light industrial, where directed) customers. This role reports to the General Manager (sales manager) and is based locally in the assigned territory.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Meet or exceed assigned machine products sales targets

· Prospect new opportunities utilizing all available resources while maintaining existing customers in territory – Convert – Penetrate – Retain (CPR)

· Grow market share – focus on penetrating deeper into existing accounts and converting competitive accounts, while maintaining existing service business

· ID and communicate new service sales opportunities to the regional PSSR (if applicable)

· Effectively promote and sell all Sullair compressor solutions and technologies, along with proper air treatment – identifying and presenting the best system solution specific to customer requirements and expectations

· Understand and practice Strategic Selling principles and concepts

· Establish rapport and maintain regular contact with existing and new customers

· Respond promptly to customer inquiries – ensure quick turn-around and timeliness for all customer inquiries and RFQ’s

· Ascertain customer business needs – assess and recommend new product offering(s) or improved service level ideas (VOC initiatives) to Sullair

· Maintain the highest standards of customer service – strive to meet / exceed customer expectations

· Utilize Microsoft Dynamics CRM to support and manage customer activities, quotes, leads, etc.

· Be a key face of Sullair to our customer; be professional in all interactions, communications, presentations, appearance, etc. with the customer always

· Prepare all sales and activity reports, presentations, studies and research as requested

Qualifications:

  • Experience with rotating equipment; strong mechanical aptitude / technical prowess; experience in compressed air equipment / rotating equipment is highly desired
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills with the ability to ask the right questions in order to investigate the best customer solution
  • Positive customer-focused attitude and successful interaction in a dynamic team environment is a must
  • Proficiency with MS Office software, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint – Experience with SAP and CRM tools are a plus
  • Proven time management, planning and organizational skills

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or technical discipline) or business

Professional experience:

· At least 3 years of experience in a technical / solution selling environment, preferably in the use and/or application of compressed air systems

· Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders

· Available for travel at least 25%

· Proficiency in Microsoft office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)

Pay: $88,000.00 - $131,000.00 per year
