Pacific Southwest Container is looking for 2 experienced, seasoned HR Managers to lead and execute the HR mission at PSC’s designated manufacturing sites. The HR Manager position is in Modesto, CA and the salary range is $85K-$100K, depending on experience. The HR Manager encompasses all aspects of HR including, but not limited to team training and development, benefits administration, legal compliance, safety, project management and employee advocacy/employee relations. Some recruitment inititatives, in coordination with the floor Manufacturing managers and team members, are required. This position requires hands-on HR tasks. Preferred candidate will be able to juggle multiple HR initiatives at any given time.

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years previous experience as a HR Manager or HR Business Partner. Experience in manufacturing industry highly preferred. PHR/SPHR a definite plus! Degree preferred.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads HR support for the assigned manufacturing facility.
  • Leads Human Resource programs within the assigned function, including but not limited to, employee engagement, development, talent management, workforce planning, employee relations, HR compliance, and unemployment.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues via effective and thorough investigation.
  • Participates in regular meetings with facility leadership.
  • Assists with timecard administration.
  • Coordinates recruiting efforts with hiring managers.
  • Manages full life cycle HR processes.
  • Coaches and develops leaders and team members.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline HR processes and helps to drive efficiencies.
  • Leads and supports strategic HR initiatives.
  • May be responsible for supervising others.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities

Knowledge Of

  • Employee Relations investigative techniques.
  • Labor law and regulations such as FLSA, ADA, FMLA etc.
  • ADP Workforce Now or other HRIS.

Skilled In

Verbal and written communication

  • Time management.
  • Analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • External audits and preparation of audit documentation.
  • Supporting ASC 842 Lease Accounting requirements.
  • Critical thinking and mathematical reasoning.
  • MS Office suite or related software.
  • Managing internal and external customers in a professional manner.

Ability To

  • Acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Coach and develop others.
  • Comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Meet deadlines with little or no direct supervision.

Experience

  • 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources, manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience working with an hourly population preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelors in human resources or a related degree.
  • HR Certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP etc.).

Pay: $85,000.00 - $112,963.86 per year
