Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is looking for a talented Occupational Therapist to help expand our occupational therapy practice in conjunction with our thriving orthopedic surgery practice and ongoing PT practice. We’re looking for an expert occupational therapist with 3+ years of experience.

Thriving in the world requires mobility and freedom from pain, but our healthcare system often makes quality orthopedic care inaccessible to many who need it most – those on all public healthcare plans or those who lack insurance. We won’t be able to solve our present medical challenges with a care delivery model designed in the past, which is why Genesis is constantly innovating.

This role will help us develop a physical therapy practice that will serve the underserved, who often have 45-minute drive times from their residence to their place of therapy (an untenable proposition).

Essential characteristics:

• Creates and implements exercise and rehab protocols that meet the patient’s goals and needs. Helps patients accomplish the treatment plan, accept therapeutic devices, and answers questions and inquiries regarding passive and active therapy.
• Follows doctors’ orders by consultation or by prescription to prescribe, adjust and/or progress exercise activities.
• Administers Occupational therapy treatments such as patient exercise using equipment and objective functional testing.
• Instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing treatment activities such as non-manual exercises, functional activities, and daily-living activities.
• Utilize proven rehab techniques with day to day functions of patient care and retention.
• Ensure rehab equipment is clean, operable, and ready for use. Comply with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintain accurate patient charting requirements, reports, and correspondence. Keep patient confidence and protect practice operations by keeping information confidential.
• Conducts self in an ethical, legal, and responsible manner always. Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation, attending educational workshops, and reviewing professional publications.
• Other duties as assigned
