Objective
The Pharmaceutical Business Analyst will be working to surface and distill data so that internal and external stakeholders can make informed decisions in a complex business environment. The Pharmaceutical Sales Business Analyst will focus on creating and delivering financial and operational insights that will be used to provide analytics for all AleraCare lines of business. The right candidate will be able to leverage a detailed understanding of the source data and how it relates to sales activity including commissions and sales performance, key performance indicators, including performance and forecasting outcomes, operational processes to identify areas of opportunity, financial impact reporting, outcomes, key performance indicators, and business cases for supporting variability. This role will work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and departments within the company and must have the ability to communicate findings clearly and concisely to the field sales team and leadership.
Essential Duties

  • Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders
  • Support ad-hoc analyses
  • Identify key data elements needed to support reporting requests and work with internal teams to create them
  • Bring a data-backed viewpoint to influence strategic decision
  • Financial Impact Reports, Key Performance Indicators, and Return on Investment
  • Payer reimbursement analytics by drug type, state, region, etc.
  • Assumes responsibility for moderately complex analytic and consultative work such as analyzing and interpreting client/ patient data, trends, and reports and partnering with the sales leadership team to deliver recommendations or project status updates to internal and external stakeholders; investigates follow-up items or questions regarding the project and/or request scope
  • Investigates key drivers of a benefit performance
  • Leads in the development of analytic methodologies, models, reports, and new product integration.
  • Interprets and compiles sales commission compensation as indicated and partners with Sales Leadership and the corporate Finance team to create annual sales forecasts
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, scientific discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in a data-oriented field
  • Experience with data analysis (using Excel and other data analysis platforms)
  • Intermediate SQL (ability to extract data from multi-source datasets)
  • Experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting, familiarity with data visualization tools, e.g., Tableau, Sales Force.
  • Ability to present complex data in a concise manner
  • Certifications or qualifications in, quantitative methods, or information technology preferred
  • Experience in the healthcare industry sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to critically evaluate findings

Preferred Professional and Educational Qualifications

  • Advanced degrees or MBA a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – ability to create complete formulas and efficient data manipulation.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting skills, including in-depth client data research, which may involve research and drivers of utilization; understanding resources needed and steps/processes on how to complete the problem; able to understand when an issue arises and how-to navigate to a resolution
  • Strong pharmacy, health plan and/or PBM industry knowledge; able to articulate the industry trends to clients and the impact of trends and changes on client financials
  • Ability to establish rapport and effectively influence at all levels within an organization
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present complex data to a wide variety of audiences
  • Experience in the healthcare industry sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to critically evaluate findings
