The employee shall provide Pharmacy services in support of the Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL, to include the Satellite Pharmacy and the Naval Air Station Jacksonville Branch Health Clinic located on the facility. The Pharmacists may be required to provide temporary services at Naval Branch Health Clinic (NBHC) Kings Bay, GA, or NBHC Mayport, FL, as an alternate worksite. All sites are within a 50-mile radius. If required to provide services at an alternate worksite, the health care workers (HCWs) shall be given a 2-week advance notice. Additionally, at the mutual agreement of the HCW and the government, the HCW may provide temporary services to one of the NH Jacksonville surrounding clinics located outside a 50-mile radius as an alternate worksite.

Schedule:

The Pharmacy Department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. Services shall generally be provided Sunday through Saturday between 0600 and 2200. Shifts will typically be scheduled for an 8.5 or 9-hour period, including an uncompensated 30 to a 60-minute meal break

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree: You must complete a doctor of pharmacy program (PharmD)

Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).

• Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience after graduation.
• Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a pharmacist.

Core Duties:

• Perform a full range of pharmacist procedures.
• Deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services within the facility personnel, supply, and equipment capabilities.
• Counsel patients regarding the appropriate use of medications.
• Review patient profiles at the time of dispensing to monitor medication therapy closely.
• Ensure prescription directions for use, dose, medication interactions, therapeutic duplications or overlaps, allergy information, age-specific dosage, and other pertinent data are appropriate for individual patients. Intervention with providers shall be made for noted discrepancies of the above-listed items.
• Compound medications as required.
• Ensure the accuracy of all pharmaceutical products prepared or processed by technical staff.

Supervise inventory control of all pharmaceuticals in the pharmacy, especially scheduled drugs, and ensure pharmacy security. Maintain appropriate records and security of all scheduled controlled substances according to applicable regulations
