ContinueCARE Hospital at Palmetto Health Baptist is a 35-bed Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Hospital specializing in medically complex patients requiring an average length of stay of 25 to 30 days. A typical LTAC patient may require care for: ventilator weaning, complex wounds, infections requiring IV antibiotics, complications from extensive surgery, multi-system failures, TPN, neurological / traumatic injuries, and those not yet able to participate in acute rehabilitation due to medical complexity.

Will conduct or assist with medically prescribed physical therapy programs to restore function and prevent disabilities following a disease, injury, or loss of a body part. Help patients reach His/her maximum performance while learning to live within the limits of His/her capabilities involving physical means, such as exercise, mobility training, massage, heat, water, and electricity, as prescribed by physician and directed by Physical Therapist. Assist patients in active and passive exercises, muscle reeducation, and gait and functional training, utilizing pulleys and weights, steps, and inclined surfaces
