POSITION TITLE: Physician Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Grand River Health Specialty Clinic
REPORTS TO: Administrative Director of Clinics
JOB PURPOSE: To improve the health and wellbeing of our communities.
BASIC FUNCTION: Performs various duties to assist surgeon during surgery. Tasks include but are not limited to retracting tissues and tying suturing materials, starting intravenous solutions, and inserting tubes. Examines patients, performs comprehensive physical examinations and compiles patient medical data including health history and results of physical examinations. Works to assess the physical needs of patients admitted and incorporate treatment plans under supervision of physicians. Prescribes medications and makes recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment. Works to ensure that the total care of the patient is achieved successfully. Provides direct professional care to patients as required. Orders, interprets and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians and other departments. In addition to clinical duties, participates in quality assurance planning, initiatives and improvement projects. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Requires graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; active Colorado Physician Assistant licensure; current NCCPA certification; Active DEA licensure; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: 3 to 5 years’ experience as a physician assistant with at least 1-year experience in similar role preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION :
$51.00-$62.84 per hour Dependent on Experience
Shift differentials may apply for eligible positions.
