The South College Physician Assistant Studies program is seeking a highly motivated physician for the position of Senior Medical Director to join our developing Physician Assistant program in Orlando, FL. We are searching for a team-oriented Medical Director to provide part-time assistance and advising in the development and maintenance of our didactic and clinical curricula.

The mission of the South College Master of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies program is to educate highly qualified physician assistants, preparing them to become competent, compassionate, and comprehensive healthcare providers for clinical practice in rural and urban areas.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide medical guidance for the didactic and clinical instruction of the program,
  • Assist the Physician Assistant Program Director with the development, content, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the didactic and clinical curricula,
  • Assist Program Director by securing, orienting, and evaluating new clinical preceptors as needed.
  • Act as advocate for the program by providing ongoing guidance and direction to the adjunct medical directors and core didactic and clinical faculty including but not limited to regional and local physician faculty members, hospital and clinic administrators, and state/professional boards.
  • Assist with preparation of grants, reports, and self-studies related to funding and accreditation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic School approved by the American Association of Osteopathic Medical Schools and/or Association of American Medical Colleges
  • Board Certified by ABMS or AOA approved specialty board
  • Eligibility for licensure in Florida (must secure upon hire if not currently held)
  • Minimum three years of clinical experience
  • Strong written/oral skills
