Lumark has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Software Developer to join our team in support of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aircraft Movement Data (AMD) team hybrid remotely.

Duties

• Provide Systems Engineering Support by: performing market research, analysis, and technical advisory support; Analyzing current and new requirements; performing engineering studies on emerging developments and their impacts to systems distribution and services; creating transition plans for integrations, system and software updates, and replacements; Providing life-cycle analysis for systems and identifying service life extension needs.
• Provide Database Engineering and Development support by: providing database design, upgrades and patching; Incorporating/migrating data; developing data queries, importing/exporting data, creating data and ad-hoc reports; performing data analysis and making recommendations; developing and maintaining data backup and recovery plans/procedures.
• Provide Software Engineering and Development by: developing software and providing enhancements to include SSG best practices and iterative agile development methodology; developing and managing software source code using configuration management tools; performing unit-level testing; Installing, integrating, testing and verifying updated software in development, system testing, user acceptance and production/release; planning and implementing software updates for custom and COT software.
• Provide system and software documentation support in regards to the following: System and Software Design Documents; System and Software Architecture; Data Flow Diagrams; Extern System Interfaces (ICD, API); Data Sources Configuration; SSM & VDD
• Provide documentation for users, training and system/software maintenance (Training materials, User Manuals, System Maintenance Manuals, Application Administration Guides, Eng-User Guides, Concepts of Operations; System Installation and Configuration Guides; Requirement Documentation)
• Assist with software release management by: Performing deployment and operation readiness logistics; coordinating activities and resources; managing verison deployment; compliancy verification; utilizing industry standard change management processes; managing deployment risk; providing recovery paths; contributing feedback.
• Provide technical and maintenance support for software
• Provide Information Sytem Security Support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related technical or management field.
• 12 Years of Systems Development Lifecycle Management experience of aviation programs (FAA experience preferred).
• Relevant Industry Certifications
• Currently hold or eligible for Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Excellent organizational, verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
• Expert with Microsoft Office and JIRA.
