We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to handle our company's procurement activities. The purchasing manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities.

Responsibilities:

· Initiates purchase orders and amendments for parts, services and/or special tools; arranges for submission and inspection of sample products as required; maintains close coordination with plant engineering and facilities management to ensure timely execution of product and services sourcing activities.

· Secures and analyzes inventory, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities.

· Interviews and confers with current and prospective suppliers to determine supply capabilities, transportation logistics inventory control and management; negotiates prices and delivery terms.

· Coordinates the planning of recent schedules and inventory control parameters for the assigned products and services consistent with ERP requirements or as arranged with requisitions.

· Coordinates as appropriate quality matters and engineering changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.

· All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Familiarity with basic Cost Accounting concepts as they pertain to inventory valuation.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Able to communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.

· Good technical aptitude.

· Able to collaborate with various departments and personnel as necessary.

· Good project management skills.

· Ability to use time management strategies effectively.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred with emphasis in business administration, economics, or engineering

· 3-5 years of progressively responsible purchasing and materials control experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

· Some product knowledge and familiarity as well as experience in a manufacturing job shop preferred but not necessary.

· Highly effective communication skills, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, and the capability to exercise independent judgment while problem solving.

Salary is based on experience: $80,000 - $90,000
