What Does a Registered Nurse in Mental Health Do?

• Organizes and prioritizes elements of patient care for self and others
• Performs accurate ongoing assessment of patient status
• Effectively plans interventions, evaluates response and reassesses plan of care. Documents response on the care plan
• Provides care to assigned patients including the activities of daily living, therapies and interventions
• Uses patient safety techniques in the delivery of medications
• Monitors/reports in a timely manner any adverse drug reactions
• Safely performs IV therapy
