Midwest Research is a contract research company located west of York, NE. We are family owned and have been in business since 1963. Research trials vary from product efficacy and demonstration to gene quality assessment in newly created genetically modified crops. Many of our customers include chemical, seed and fertilizer companies. We specialize in corn, soybeans and small grains, but also conduct tests on forages and vegetables.

Job Description:

Manage and conduct pesticide and GMO research trials in various crops

Duties :

-establish and maintain research plots
-read and interpret protocols
-record detailed data on all work activities
-collect plant, soil and water samples
-apply herbicides, insecticides and fungicides
-process data with various computer software
-correspond with study directors and quality assurance personnel
-operate various farm and plot related equipment

Background:

We are looking for a full time employee with an agricultural background who has a strong interest in agronomy and research. This person needs to be detail oriented with good organizational skills and able to work both alone and with others. This position requires excellent penmanship and good communication skills.
