Pit Stop Fuels is hiring a full-time Fuel Delivery Driver to join our team!

The Fuel Delivery Driver is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering propane (LP) and refined fuels (RF) to our residential and commercial customers using a bobtail truck (3,000-5,000 gallon capacity). Our Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety. This position requires a Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

This position will support our Pit Stop Fuels location in Gorham, ME.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Loads, secures, transports, delivers propane (LP) and refined fuels (RF) to residential and commercial customers/locations
• Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven
• Establishes and maintains effective customer relations by meeting or exceeding customer requirements to contribute to a positive public relations image
• Under supervision, handles and maintains flow of materials and products under safety guidelines
• Plans and accomplishes a complete range of operational assignments and tasks that are varied and moderately complex to complex related to gauge tank volumes and testing product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products
• Ensures compliance with all government regulations and company policies and procedures by operating all vehicles and equipment in a safe and efficient manner to maintain the ongoing transport of petroleum products
• Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
• Must have the ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
• Follows and meets time and delivery requirements by adhering to the pick-up and delivery schedule to contribute to operational effectiveness
• Performs such other duties as may be required

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
• Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
• Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
• Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Class A or B CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements required
• Must meet all DOT requirements
• Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
• No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
• 1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years

Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 90 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift.
• Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
• Good hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night.
• Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
• Must be able to speak and hear
• Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
• Must pass pre-employment screening
• Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
• Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases is common. airborne particles
