Dean Steel Buildings is currently seeking an onsite Senior Metal Building Design Engineer to join our team in our Fort Myers, FL location.

Essential Functions

• Provide technical assistance to the sales, estimating, and manufacturing departments.
• Be familiar with IBC, FBC, ASCE-7 and stay abreast of building code changes.
• Prepare design packages for in-house orders.
• General engineering design and preparation of contract plans and specifications, including calculations.
• Review job orders for code compliance.
• Assist in updating and developing of in-house computer programs for the engineering department.

Required Education and Experience

• Must have experience in Metal Building design to be considered.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Must be a registered Professional Engineer.
• Experience with MBS design software
• Must be able to analyze high complexity projects outside of MBS
• Be familiar with AutoCAD
• Minimum of 5-years metal building design experience or related field
• Extensive Design experience on medium and high complexity buildings
• Maintain current Professional Engineer registrations in all states the company does business in.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
