A rather unique position, the Staff Accountant will bridge the gap between our Marketing and Accounting teams working with both to achieve their goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

General Accounting

· Responsible for data entry and system upload of information into the accounting system.

· Will share in treasury management responsibilities including the preparation of on-line balance transfers, ACH payments and wire transfers.

· Responsible for the audit/verification of all company expenses to include trade payables, employee reimbursements and asset purchases.

· Assist as needed for both the retail and wholesale customer billing processes.

· Research discrepancies in accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger accounts; interacts with vendors, customers, and other appropriate staff to reconcile.

· Participate in the monthly close process and preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements and projection schedules.

Marketing Accounting

· Assist the marketing team verifying and organizing daily, monthly, and long-term trades, corresponding with the counterparties directly to resolve deal discrepancies.

· Support the marketing team by maintaining database information for our customers and producers. This will also include tasks related to the evaluation process and the compiling of information for credit and pricing determination.

· Assist with the compilation and distribution of necessary documentation for contract execution. This includes any negotiations with the client as well as obtaining internal authorization on any modifications requested.

Pipeline Accounting

· Participate in tracking physical gas on various pipelines and will assist with the monthly reconciliation of each pipeline’s activity.

· Assist in maintaining both Customer and Producer volumetric data and reconciling to various pipeline reports for billing and payment purposes

Desired Attributes and Skills

· Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business

· 3-5 years’ accounting experience with a proven record of hard work and accomplishment.

· Proven proficiency of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

· Experience and knowledge using windows-based general ledger software, Peachtree a plus.

· Effective time management skills, self-motivated with critical attention to detail and deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
