About This Job:

The Accounting Intern will have an opportunity to gain hands-on accounting experience and learn about the various aspects of those functions at arrivia with our 10-week paid internship program. Our internships provide real-world learning opportunities in a fun environment to help build future careers. The Accounting Intern will work directly under the supervision of the Controller and Assistant Controller and will assist other members of the accounting team. The Accounting Intern will contribute to a variety of areas that will impact the overall success of the organization and will help manage some financial tasks and help oversee budgeting and accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in month end close activities including journal entry creation and post-close analysis
• Collect, understand, process, verify and report financial information to their direct report and/or team
• Assist with the ERP implementation including data validation and testing
• Using excel skills, prepare financial modeling which provides insights to business leaders
• Produce reports using large volumes of data
• Completes all other duties and tasks as assigned

Requirements:

• Intern must be a current bachelor student in the finance and/or accounting field of study.
• Minimum GPA 3.2 of 4.0
• Highly motivated with a desire to learn
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Expertise in numbers and good math skills are very important.
• Must have knowledge of the basic principles and practices of accounting
• Strong verbal & written communication
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent at problem solving, entering & verifying data, knowledge of computers, various software applications and standard office equipment
• Must be able to collect, evaluate and interpret data, both in statistical & narrative form.
