The Transportation Specialist is responsible for making all outgoing customer deliveries and working with the Yard & Delivery Manager to schedule and unload incoming vendor deliveries.

Job Responsibilities

1) Load and unload customer and vendor delivery trucks and trailers

2) Drive to customer jobsites and unload materials

3) Assist with scheduling incoming vendor deliveries and make outgoing customer deliveries

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to meet physical requirements for DOT
• CDL certified required (or willing to obtain within first 60 days)
• 2-year minimum yard or construction experience preferred
• Ability to lift (minimum of 50 pounds), reach, bend, stoop and climb ladders
• Work well with others
• Proven organizational skills
• Self-directed
• Strong oral communication skills

Must have CDL-Class A or B, or willing to obtain. Construction material knowledge preferred. This is a 40-hour per week, Mon-Fri, daytime position with optional seasonal overtime. All deliveries are within 120 miles, so no overnights. Position open until January 31st. Northland Lumber is an equal opportunity employer.
