Our beautiful film studio is located just south of Salt Lake City in Midvale, UT.

We are a fast-growing company with a local team of 10 looking for a VP of Finance.

JOB SUMMARY:

As a VP of finance, you will be responsible for maintaining a positive working relationship with assigned vendors, contractors, and staff and delivering timely accurate reporting. We are a results-driven company that prides itself on doing what we say and keeping promises to our affiliates, customers, and team.

A successful candidate will be able to balance vendor and affiliate relationships while providing strategic financial support, analysis, and internal control compliance for the business. This will be a (preferably local) full-time role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Train and mentor internal bookkeeper(s), vendors, and contractors in a way that allows them to stay on track, perform efficiently and impact the overall financial results.

· Train and mentor employees, vendors, and contractors in operating processes and procedures; ensure best practices are shared across the organization; advise leaders on ways process improvement can lead to financial gains for the business.

· Regularly negotiate with vendors and merchant accounts to secure optimal financial arrangements for the company.

· Track and implement Utah State film tax credits for the financial benefit of the firm.

· Collaborate and mentor employees, vendors, and contractors on the analysis of our Financial Statements and Advanced Reporting.

· Identify and work with operations leaders to address weaknesses/opportunities in the business.

· Analyze the business’s profitability from aspects beyond the traditional P&L (e.g. the profitability of a project, job, or an overspend in labor).

· Assist in developing and reviewing the budget, forecast, and cash flow reporting.

· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Preferred Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred and at least 8 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Ability to effectively present information to employees, vendors, and contractors.

· Ability to effectively communicate tangible action that leads to measurable results.

· Ability to negotiate and renegotiate terms that are favorable with vendors and merchant accounts.

· Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.

· Have a clear understanding of merchant processing and reconciliation in high-risk online banking.

· Understand affiliate marketing and payouts.

· Understand and implement Utah State film credits.

· Language Skills -- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and Tax Returns.

· Proficient in QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Adobe, Google Drive, ShareFile, and Microsoft Applications.

· Must be self-motivated, and able to work both independently and with a team.

· Preferred Qualifications: ECommerce Experience, Payroll Processing, AP Processing in Everflow, Sticky.io.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $150,000.00 per year
