Aquila Protective Services is a Colorado-based security provider of professional and proactive security services, with more than 250 employees throughout the state. We are growing rapidly and seeking out those candidates who are well-qualified to work as School Protection Specialist as a part of our Special Services Division. This position requires only those applicants with the most experience and qualifications - it is NOT entry level or for those with little experience. The position is ARMED only and it is expected that applicants are proficient and comfortable with and around firearms. Hiring is occurring at this time, so please do not apply for this position if you are not currently in the area or will be within a week

This position works in a very specialized capacity servicing very specific clients that require those Specialists that are more qualified and experienced. We will provide all necessary training for qualified candidates. All shifts are currently available. You may work individually or in teams along other Community Protection Specialists.

Successful candidates will undergo various forms extensive training and certification, to include advanced firearms, mental health first aid, taser and other less-than-lethal methods, basic first aid and many other topics, depending on current certifications and/or experience.

Our expectations of you:

• Role requires a high level of customer service and professional demeanor while having a potential for stressful situations
• Ability to work closely with children as part of a school program.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of previous experience in armed security, POST Certification, or specific Military Police Training (MOS) expected (similar experience may be considered)
• Be available for Full-Time positions only. This must be your main form of employment due to the changing demands of these positions.
• We desire candidates who know and understand what five star customer service is and how to practice it to ensure the customer is taken care of. Being customer service oriented among others is focused on being alert and aware throughout the shift and answering community members questions while being polite, respectful and considerate.

Duties of the Armed Security Specialist position:

• Work closely with local law enforcement at our locations
• Responsible for foot patrol duties working within the designated zone
• Response timely to calls for service on assigned properties
• Have a strong customer service attitude
• Must be reliable and have a strong work ethic
• Required to stay current with all training and certifications
• Always have a mindset of safety
• Strong grasp of appropriate and professional verbal and written communication.

Benefits for working with us:

• Starting wage is $20.00 per hour, with an additional $80.00 weekly performance bonus for showing for all assigned shifts. This means that you could be earning $22.00 per hour very easily!

Additional information:

• Armed Security Officers must possess their own firearm, full size in 9 mil. or 40 caliber and a Retention II holster or above, all other equipment is provided (compact model may be approved on a case-by-case basis, however, sub-compact models are not authorized for use)
• Armed Security License Required (we can assist with if needed)
