Newberry Academy is seeking applicants for Head of School for the 2023-2024 school year. Newberry Academy is an independent school of 270 students in grades 2K-12th who has been serving families from all over Newberry, Prosperity, Pomaria, Chapin, and surrounding areas for over 50 years. Newberry Academy educates students from families who prioritize a safe, traditional, and nurturing learning environment with an emphasis on high moral character and respect within our school community. We offer a full athletic program, a new outdoor science and agricultural center, and a variety of academic and leadership programs/experiences to our students. Newberry Academy is a member of and is accredited by the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA).

The Position

Newberry Academy seeks a Head of School who will continue to build on our school's growth, expansion, and success with thoughtfulness and dedication. The Head of School will report to and work closely with The Board of Directors in developing and implementing strategic plans while advising on policies and visions for the school. The Heads responsibilities include administrative, operational, and instructional leadership along with overseeing a team of 40 teaching staff and faculty. Demonstrated leadership in education is required, while a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership is strongly preferred. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
